LSU lands commitment from 4-star quarterback

BATON ROUGE, La. – Four-star quarterback Colin Hurley has committed to LSU football and reclassified to the Class of 2024, Hurley announced on Friday.

Hurley had been the No. 3 quarterback and the No. 24 player in the nation in the Class of 2025, according to 247Sports Composite. At 6-foot and 213 pounds, the Trinity Christian Academy star was also the No. 5 recruit in Florida.

Hurley also had offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Texas A&M.

‘To Coach Brian Kelly and the staff at LSU, I want to say thank you for the opportunity to graduate a champion and bring a national championship to Baton Rouge,’ Hurley tweeted on Friday.

LSU quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan and recruiting specialist Jordan Arcement were Hurley’s lead recruiters.

Hurley is the sixth player to commit to LSU’s 2024 class, joining four-star linebacker Maurice Willians, four-star athlete Joseph Stone, four-star tight end Tayvion Galloway, four-star cornerback Zion Ferguson and three-star linebacker Xavier Atkins.

Hurley gives LSU more security at quarterback for the future with top-50 Class of 2022 quarterback Walker Howard already on the roster and Class of 2023 four-star quarterback Rickie Collins committed to the Tigers.
