What the Federal Reserve Doesn’t Do, The Bond Market Does

The bond market is doing what the Federal Reserve hasn’t — raising rates. The fear is something is going to break.

On this week’s edition of StockCharts TV‘s Halftime, Pete reviews the TLT chart again, talking over the US 2-year yield less the US 10-year yield. The 2/10 spread could go up, and, if that happens, it would put further pressure on the TLT. He issues a warning to watch the unemployment rate for further signs of a weakening economy.

Pete also reviews AAPL and NFLX, which have changed trend to the downside by breaking down on the Relative Strength indicator. He wraps up the show by highlighting several other names that are also breaking down, including AutoNation, Weyerhaeuser, TopBuild Corp, and Quanta Services.

This video originally premiered on October 5, 2023. You can watch on our dedicated Halftime by Chaikin Analytics page on StockCharts TV, or click this link to watch on YouTube.
